At long, long last, something is finally happening. Late last night, reports started to trickle in that Epic was rolling out teasers for Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2. Not in the game, but in real life, echoing the “ARG” feel of the lead-up to season 5 a long while back.
While some Fortnite stickers and signs have been spotted in Paris and Japan, the main draw is a series of signs that have appeared in São Paulo, Brazil, which you can see above. This was spotted and recorded by YouTuber @FlakesPower, and as you can see the sign not only has a strange yellow handprint symbol across the logo, but at the bottom, that’s actually a Brazilian phone number.
When you call it? Here’s the message that plays:
The translation:
“Yes sir.”

“The agents were called.”
“Card to access the safe purchased.”
Naturally, nobody has any idea what this means. We have had close to zero clues about what’s coming in Chapter 2, Season 2 the last four months. All we have to go on is a few gold-themed datamined skins and props. Given that the handprint on the sign is yellow, I do wonder if this could be some sort of “Midas touch” hint, but the rest of it all sounds like covert ops spy stuff.
It’s not clear is this is going to be some sort of ARG that people need to participate in and play, but based on this singular message, there really isn’t much of a call to action unless you happen to know what access card and safe they’re talking about. Which no one does. I have a hunch that perhaps this Brazilian sign activated a little early, as these other signs in Japan aren’t doing anything except displaying the Fortnite logo right now. But maybe they’ll have different symbols or different phone messages once they “go live.”
Whatever is happening will likely happen fast. We are only four days away from the launch of Chapter 2, Seasons 2, and in past seasons, this is usually the day teasers start. We might see some tweets from the official Fortnite account later further expanding on…whatever is going on here. I would not expect to see anything in the actual game, because that would have been datamined already. Short of the gold props and missing legendary skin, there’s nothing left to be found hidden in the files, it would seem.
I am excited that finally something is happening in the lead-up to Season 2 here, even if it took four full months for Fortnite to start trying to build hype at the last possible second.
